Laurent Blanc Not to Succeed Raymond Domenech

The president of the France Football Federation (FFF), Jean-Pierre Escalettes, has confirmed that Laurent Blanc is not in line to succeed France coach Raymond Domenech.

Rumors swirled concerning the secret meetings between the Bordeaux coach and the federation to discuss the former’s position with Les Bleus.

“It’s completely false,” Escalettes told RMC. “It’s ridiculous. Of course I completely deny it. Absolutely nothing justifies this type of rumours. It seems absurd to me.”

“I have to ask myself what they are looking for with these type of rumours. It’s doing wrong to the France team.”

Blanc himself is fed up with the speculations and has remained tight-lipped about the entire matter.

Blanc is his third season with Bordeaux. In 2009, he took the team to winning the Trophée des Champions (as did the previous year), Coupe de la Ligue, and Ligue 1.
